I spent way too much time in Orange County last week- all week at the shop building the Palm project, and then ending up in Laguna Beach on Sat. I’m (we’re) getting better at balancing productive-yet-fun weekends, which is awesome. Now that another weekend is almost here, I guess I’ll finish last weekend’s post. I’m seriously a terrible blogger, but whatever.

On Friday we went to see 500 Days of Summer at Arclight. It was cute, but I didn’t really like it as much as I thought I would. Zooey Deschanel is super adorable though. Beforehand we stopped at Blue Palms for fish and chips, which randomly turned out to be a Steelers bar AND an Ohio State bar (seriously, wtf?).

Saturday was a productive morning, then we were planning to go to the X Games until we found out it was first come, first serve and would have to spend all day there. So, we decided to go to Laguna Beach instead, stopping at The Bruery en route for some beer nerding. We got 2 allocations for their new very-highly-rated beer, Black Tuesday, which comes out in Oct. Then we headed down the PCH to Laguna Beach for an awesome seafood dinner at an asian fusion place, followed by mango and guava gelato. Oh, gelato, how I love thee. Saw a fabulous, hilarious painting of past Republican presidents playing cards, shooting the shit. At first we thought it was a joke, but then we realized there is absolutely a market for that in the OC.

Sunday was catch up- groceries, cleaning, laundry, getting back into the swing of things. How is it August already?
